Texas Debate Collective: Winter Session (Dec 27-30)

The Texas Debate Collective is a nonprofit organization devoted to providing free or low-cost debate education to communities across Texas. Our Summer institute began a movement to create a spirit of openness and competitive equity in the state. This December, we are extending that commitment . Join us from December 27 to 30 on the campus of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston for three days of intense study and topic preparation. Our faculty includes Ryan Bennett, Chris Castillo, Andrew Cockroft, Tom Evnen, Monica Ghosh, Ryan Graham, Chris McMichael, Shane O’Neal, Devin Race, Becca Traber, Andrew Waks, Andy Werner, Kris Wright, and more. Murvin Auzenne will act as dorm director.

Commuters: $200 (tuition)
Out of Towners: $325 (tuition + hotel)
20-30 students will be fully subsidized by the Collective.

More information about staff and housing will be posted as further commitments are finalized. We’ll keep you posted!

  1. Jerry Crist Says:

I am excited about hosting this event on the Strake Jesuit campus. All too often, bright young competitors are kept from camp because of money. It is for this reason that Mr. Auzenne and myself have decided to offer the facilities of Strake Jesuit to be used to help remedy this problem. The benefits of competition at the highest levels should be available to all students regardless of their ability to pay. Debate camp prepares an individual for the style and knowledge that makes success a possibility. Register and have fun.
